English version
Terran Dawn does not require a separate developer-operated player account. Steam accounts, purchases and payments are handled by Valve through Steam. The Steam release uses Steam multiplayer services, rather than the developer's internal test lobby.
The developer does not maintain a separate customer/player-account database for this release. This does not mean that no information is processed: the game uses Steam features, optional Discord features share the activity you choose to publish, and visiting the website or contacting support involves limited technical or correspondence data.
1. Who is responsible and what this covers
This notice covers terrandawn.eu, the Steam-distributed version of Terran Dawn (Steam App ID 5073720), and its optional Discord Rich Presence and multiplayer-invite integration. Internal development/test services are outside this public Steam release.
Developer and website operator: Kálmán Dengel (Dengel Kálmán).
Privacy and support contact: info@terrandawn.eu.
The operator is responsible for website operation and correspondence described here. Valve and Discord operate their own platforms and act as independent controllers for their platform accounts and services. Their policies explain their own purposes, legal bases and retention.
2. Steam accounts and online play
You create and manage your account with Steam, not with the developer. Valve handles Steam account registration, purchase/payment information and Steam-platform privacy requests. The game does not ask the developer to collect your Steam password or payment-card details.
The game uses Steam-provided identifiers and profile names, game ownership, achievements, lobby membership and networking information to provide the features you request. In multiplayer, participating players and Steam can receive the names, lobby/map information, messages and game-session data needed for the match. Other players can see information you share with them.
These Steam features do not create a separate developer-hosted player database. Steam may provide the developer with aggregate sales or usage reports. Information you voluntarily send directly to the developer is handled as correspondence below.
Read Valve's Privacy Policy. Steam account-data requests can be made through Steam Support.
3. Optional Discord presence and invitations
Discord Rich Presence and multiplayer invitations are separate, optional switches under Options → Interface → Discord. Both are off by default. You can stop sharing by switching Rich Presence off, and you can disable invitations separately.
When enabled, the game sends activity to the signed-in Discord client on your device. It may include the game name, menu/game mode, campaign mission or map name, faction, elapsed play time and lobby player counts. If invitations are enabled for a joinable lobby, a public lobby identifier is included so that an invitation can open the normal joining flow.
Lobby passwords, Steam authentication tickets, payment information and host credentials are not placed in the Discord invitation identifier. Password-protected rooms do not advertise a join action. The game asks for confirmation before following an incoming join request.
This integration does not request Discord OAuth account linking, your friends list, access to private messages, or microphone/voice access. The developer does not operate a separate server that stores your Discord account or presence history for this feature. Discord associates the activity with your Discord account and controls visibility and retention under your Discord settings and its policy.
The optional sharing is based on your choice/consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a), where applicable). Switching it off withdraws that choice for future sharing; earlier lawful sharing is not undone. Discord may retain information according to its own rules. See the Discord Privacy Policy and the privacy controls in your Discord settings.
4. Website, browser storage and technical logs
To deliver a web page, the hosting infrastructure receives technical connection data. Access/error logs may contain an IP address, request time, requested address, response/error status, browser/user-agent information and a referring page when your browser sends one. These are used for delivery, reliability, security and investigating faults or abuse, not for building a Steam-player marketing profile.
The website stores your language choice in your own browser using the local-storage key terranDawnLanguage (English or Hungarian). It is not a player account or an advertising identifier. You can remove it by clearing this site's browser storage; the site remains usable.
The website does not include an advertising tracker or third-party analytics script. Its fonts and site artwork are served from its own hosting. Clicking a Steam, Discord or other external link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy rules.
The legal basis for necessary website delivery and proportionate security logging is the operator's legitimate interest in a working, secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f), where applicable). Remembering a language you select provides the preference you request.
5. Local saves, preferences and diagnostics
Settings, save games, local achievement/progression information and diagnostic files can be stored on your device. The developer does not automatically receive them as a result of this notice or the Discord integration. You control local files and can remove them using the game's available controls or your operating system.
If you choose to send a save, screenshot or log with a support request, it becomes part of that correspondence. Such material may include a profile name, session identifier or other information you supplied; remove anything unnecessary before sending. Features operated by Steam remain subject to your Steam settings and Valve's policy.
6. Contacting support or requesting deletion
If you email info@terrandawn.eu, the operator and the email-hosting provider process your email address, any name you provide, the message and attachments, and technical email metadata. Provide only information needed to answer your question. Do not send account passwords, authentication codes or card details.
Data is used to answer the request, provide support and, where needed, establish or defend a related legal claim. Depending on the request, the basis is steps requested by you or contractual support (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), a legitimate interest in responding to correspondence/defending claims (Article 6(1)(f)), or a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
You may use the same email address for access, correction or deletion requests concerning data held by the operator. Steam/Discord account-data requests must also be made to the relevant platform, because the operator cannot erase their independent account records. We only seek proportionate additional information if needed to verify a request.
7. Recipients and international processing
Access to operator-held information is limited to the operator and hosting, email or technical-service providers to the extent necessary to deliver and protect those services, and competent authorities where disclosure is legally required. Personal information is not sold or used to build an advertising profile.
Valve and Discord receive information needed for their features and are independent platform providers, not a developer-operated player database. Steam/Discord may process information outside the EEA, including in the United States. Their privacy policies describe applicable locations, safeguards, adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses. Review those policies before using optional platform features.
Information you publish in multiplayer or community spaces is also available to its intended audience. Avoid putting private information in a public profile, chat message or custom map name.
8. How long information is kept
- Steam and Discord accounts/platform records: kept according to the relevant platform's policy and your account settings, rather than a developer-managed player-record retention period.
- Discord activity sent by the game: the game clears its Rich Presence when disabled or closed and does not create an operator-side presence-history database. Platform-side records follow Discord's retention policy.
- Language preference and local game files: remain in your browser/device until you change or clear them, or the relevant application/storage is removed.
- Website technical logs: retained under the hosting service's operational logging and rotation cycle. Log material needed for a specific fault, security incident or legal claim may be kept until that matter is resolved and for the applicable legal retention/limitation period, limited to what is necessary for that purpose.
- Support correspondence and voluntarily supplied files: kept while handling the request and only thereafter to the extent needed for related support, applicable legal obligations or the establishment/defence of claims. Where a fixed period cannot be specified, completion of the matter and the applicable obligation/limitation period determine retention.
9. Your choices, rights and complaints
Where applicable law provides them, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability of your information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent for future consent-based processing. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. Requests are handled within applicable statutory deadlines, normally one month under the GDPR, with lawful extensions explained where needed.
Website connection data is necessary to deliver a page. Contact information is voluntary, but without a reply address or sufficient details we may be unable to answer. Discord sharing is optional and turning it off does not remove access to the rest of the game.
The operator does not use advertising profiling or automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. The site/game does not seek to collect children's contact data; the relevant Steam/Discord minimum-age rules and local parental-consent rules apply. A parent or guardian can contact us about information sent by a child.
You can complain to the competent data-protection authority, including the authority where you live, work or consider an infringement occurred. In Hungary this is the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH), 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11; postal address: 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9. Its website explains how to submit a complaint. Judicial remedies remain available.
10. Updates and related terms
This notice describes the public Steam release and website as of the date above. Material changes to data use will be explained in an updated notice; any separately required consent will be requested before the relevant new processing. A policy update alone does not enable optional Discord sharing.
